REVIEW AND GIVEAWAY - read on

This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Pantene Full & Thick

I was recently given the opportunity to sample and review Panteen's New Full and Thick shampoo and Conditioner. Those who know me personally know this is one of my daily vanity struggles. I have thin, greying, dry, natural frizzy hair and am constantly seeking answers and solutions to my issues.
I often spend extra money on Salon products, gimmicks etc. Nothing ever seems to help me much. I do believe that a big part of my struggle may be linked to a thyroid or other hormonal issue as the demise of my hair has definitely been linked to the birth of my children!
After Lauren was born it took more than 4 years to get my hair back to "normal" I had to cut it short (which made me cry) - then I got pregnant with Hailey - and VOILA here I sit with short, thin icky hair once again!
In comes Pantene Full & Thick to the rescue? I was very sceptical. I admit. However after I used it just once I can tell you the first thing I noticed was how soft and smooth my hair was. I was in shock. In general store bought shampoos and conditioners leave me very frizzy but I was surprised by this one. I even hussled down to tell my husband what I thought!
I have used it daily since and my hair continues to feel soft and smooth even after blowing it dry - I have noticed more "lift" in the root area thus giving it a fuller look -
Is my hair fuller and thicker? I don't think so - but the results have been great and frankly I don't see paying big bucks for all the fancy stuff for daily use! I plan to use my Panteen daily and sub in the fancy stuff as needed - I am very curious to see what I notice after prolonged use!!!
Panteen and BlogHer are offering a VERY generous Giveaway with this review

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 364 Newer› Newest»Um...is having 3 kids a valid reason? LOL! For me, it's finding the time to blowdry, style and tend to my hair.
PS: I just can't imagine that your hair would be like that especially since both your daughters have such thick and beautiful heads of hair. They had to inherit their hair from you, right?
I'm still losing hair eight months after my thrid was born - I have to sweep the bathroom floor daily! And now the humity has created a frizz effect on the hair that's still on my head! Yuck!
ooo I so don't need any volume.. but I love to have more shine to my hair! I have tried a few products but nothing seems to make much of a difference.. I will have to give Pantene another try!
I am still losing hair from when Sammy was born.. but it is still way to thick.. I get it thinned when I get it cut.
I know exactly how you feel.
My hair is constantly a challenge ever since I was diagnosed with thyroid disease almost six years ago. Which for some, hair loss and/or thinning hair is a side effect.
Having two children since, has only made it worse. It has become extremely thin and only "looks" full when I have time to section and blow dry and then even still, only looks good for about three hours. By the end of the day it looks flat.
Did you notice a difference with your hair as the day went on? Also, the last time I tried a Pantene product, I could never get the conditioner to wash out very well and it left my hair greasy. Did you experience that?
I saw one of those "mystery diagnosis" shows where a woman was having thyroid problems and her hair thinning and frizzing was one of the symtoms.
I go back and forth between store bought and salon hair products. lately I've been using Paul Mitchell. It costs a little more than I'd like to pay but does seem to work better than the Tre Semme I was using.
I don't know if I've ever tried Pantene. Hearing about your results though I will have to try it!
My husband has been unemployed since January. We went from living the good life to living the poor life in a heartbeat. ;o)
Time...plain and simple. If I could have 30 extra minutes to blow out my hair it would be so much better.
My sister has used this before and LOVES it. I have thick hair, but hers is pretty thin. She loves the smooth and full feeling she gets when she uses it, and tell when she doesn't.
Hey! I think a general lack of time and inclination keeps my hair from looking as good as it did before kids. Does that sound conceited? ;) You know what I mean... I just don't care as much as I used to! Great giveaway - fingers crossed!
Hmmm, I wonder if it works. I had twins and my hair thicker and I wish it were thinner.
I had a baby! He's 15 months now and I'm just so tired! Plus when I had him my hair fell out in clumps which wasn't fun. I wish I had more energy to care about my hair.

I'm pregnant again and my hair can't decide if it wants to be curly or straight so most of the time it's just FRIZZY!
Our weather! It's either humid, windy or raining this crazy mist that just sits on your head. I have very thick hair and have to keep it thinned out or it's a real headache. It keeps getting shorter and shorter thanks to my kids and having no time to fiddle with it!
I moved back to my hometown with the horrible hard water and now my hair just feels kind of dirty unless I wash it twice.

Living in India for two years where I don't have the money or access to the more posh salons in order to take care of my hair like I would while I lived in NYC.
I never believed it, but getting older really does change your hair! Now that I am 48, my hair is not as smooth and silky as it was when I was a younger chicky!! It is a HUGE challenge now to keep it from being DRY!!! My hair was never dry and brittle! I cannot Blow dry the daylights out of it anymore and abuse it like I did in the past!!!
Many thanks for the chance to win!!

I can't really say this has changed in my life but, in terms of keeping my hair healthy, I'd say I lack the know how, and honestly the care. I get my haircut about 2 or 3 times a year and when I go in, I say do whatever.
But, to tie in with thyroid issues, I can always tell when my dosage needs to change by the amount of hair I pull out of my head while showering. Now, if I can get the doctor to believe me and just change it rather than poking me for blood.... I know that will never happen, just a wish.
I have 2 young boys who don't like to give me much time to myself to make my hair look nice. Additionally, my internship requires me to be at my facility anywhere from 5:30-6:30 AM, so you can bet that my hair isn't my top priority..sleeping is!

We recently had our 3rd baby. With the depleted nutrients from my body and literally no time, bad hair days happen more often than not.

I moved to a humid climate and my hair has gone nuts. I have wavy hair but the humidity make it like a clown's wig. Holy moley, I have to always be aware of that with the products I use.

I started my first full-time job this summer, and I have to be at work at 7:45 each morning. Now, that probably doesn't sound so bad- but I am such a night owl that I try to stay in bed as long as possible. I've gotten so lazy that I try to find any possible way to not have to dry my hair!
clarissa at digitaldeacons dot com
having kids make my doing my hair that much harder. I just don't have the time to fully blowdry my thick wavy hair and forget about flat ironing it!
Terrible!
tuesdayef at aol dot com
The biggest difference I ever noticed in the way I had to handle my hair came after a major move from one end of the country to the other.
I left the humidity of the deep south, and now live in the upper midwest. Winter leaves me flat and static-prone every year. One winter I had my husband chop it all off for me in a fit of rage. The length is back now...but it isn't winter yet!
I think the biggest change is having the time.
Working out on the ellipical trainer!
Work up a big sweat & the hair looks frightful.
So now I keep it quite short.
My hair has always been fine and thin. It took awhile but I finally accepted that no shampoo, no vitamin supplement was going to give me gorgeous big hair. I wear it shorter now and in a layered style that works well with fine hair. So the biggest change for me was accepting my hair for what it was.
Ever since I quit my job to be a Full-time mom and have added 2 more children totally that now at 4 kids my life has become as hectic as ever. I'm lucky if I have time to treat my self or my hair good.
Having a hypothyroid as of 6 yrs ago also leaves my hair Dry, thin, and just limp.
nightowlmama at comcast dot net
Menopause Happened...lol...changed the texture and thickness.
My hair is slowly becoming salt and pepper, which means the grays are sticking out every which way but flat on my head. My hair is frizzier since I hit 35, and try as I might, I can't get it to stay smooth. Weh. :)
Peri-menopause has cause my hair to become brittle, dry, and generally dull. Hope I win!
My hair was thick and long when I was kid, it got even better when I was pregnant with my daughter. I got not so great when my son came and at 32 I lose a ton of hair (evidence in the shower drain). Generally life is hectic and I simply pull my hair back into a pony tail. I need to make a few minutes for myself in the a.m. and make myself look/feel pretty.
menopause cancer stress
How about, I got old? LOL
Actually, gardening in the sun is frying my hair, making it very hard to manage.
I recently moved to Los Angeles. And I have been going to the beach a lot. My hairs are getting sun damaged.
I'm retired now and spend a lot of time in the sun. The facts that going grey has changed the texture of my hair and being in the sun (we're snowbirds) a lot makes keeping my hair looking good these days much more difficult.
One word: Motherhood. I don't have the time to take care of myself like I used to. Gone are the days of monthly stylist visits. I'm lucky to go once a year!
I cannot grow my hair long--it wisps away to nothing just below the neck, so I have to keep it short which limits the hairstyle options. And I'm seeing gray! even through the coloring--I'm in denial.
By the time I get Gracie ready in the mornings, I just don't have time to do my own. I'm wore out.
Age, hormones (or lack thereof) and those dreaded grays!
My hair has been drastically thinning for over two years and its totally impossible to look good anymore.
summer is always a challenge, the humidity!
no idea whats caused my hair to change except age. It went from sleek and shiny to frizzy and unruly.
mine is just aging, it is getting thinner, which i never thought possible because i had such a full head of hair
pksanddancer(at)yahoo(dot)com
As I have gotten older, I need to keep my hair short. Once it starts growing long, it looks like a ratty mess. Plus I dont have time to fool around with this hair everyday. thank you
allain99@gmail.com
I went through a time when I was losing so much hair that I thought I was going to go bald. I was going through alot, surgery, divorce, and menopause. Stress will take a toll! Eating well, vitamins, and exercise to cut stress is what I do to keep my hair healthy which it is now and I don't lose that much anymore. Thanks.
The summer makes my hair just sort of yech. My hair is down to my waste so it's not good when it gets unmanageable.
What's changed in my life is that I just started back to work after 12 years of being a stay at home mom. Now I'm trying to juggle the kids schedule, husbands schedule and my own, while still trying to keep up on housework, laundry, etc. I also help out caring for my Mom and Father in Law. Since time is so limited, I tend to neglect my hair and it could sure use some help and love. Thanks.
My little guy has started to grab things, and that means my hair is constantly up in a ponytail!

I always had thin hair, but after a stressful life event, I realize that it's thinner than ever. Maybe it's just a natural part of aging . . .
I'm not really sure what caused the change, age maybe? But my hair is getting dryer and dryer and frizzier and frizzier. Pantene is about the only thing that seems to control it for even a short amount of time
i am saving for an adoption so all money goes to saving....
Turning really gray means that I have to start coloring. It's making my hair much more high maintenance.
Being constantly on the move, between work, the kids, and working out, I shower alot and seem to have to clean my hair more often.
My hair gets dull in the summer. So I use the shine spray to add shine..Love it.
When I was in my teens and hitting my 20's, I dyed my hair blonde and it pretty much killed my hair. Then after my fiance had broken up with me, I was ready to change my life and dyed my hair back to my original color. My hair has never felt better.

The humidity where I live followed by the hormones from some medications I am on are not doing wonders for my hair.
pnateen seems to be the only hair products that keep my frizz at bay and leave my hair feeling full, shiney and smooth. The fact they have a two in one saves me for I just would have time for anything else!
it seems like everything from getting older and hormones out of wack :) to the dang humidity! either it looks like it has no life and bounce or a Birdsnest ,all frizzy and fuzzy:(
Age. my hair is going grey and I can't keep up with the coloring.
As I get older, my hair gets thinner and I have baby fine hair to begin with.
Two things:
the cost.
a little girl.
These two things have reduced by haircare routine to wash with bargain shampoo and run out the door!
i guess just getting older challenges you to try and keep looking as young as you feel!
I love Pantene products = have used them for years - I haven't used the thick and full but I am presently using the Pantene Blonde Expressions

My thyroid stopped working some years ago and I lost so much hair that never grew back.
I would say my new job, it's become more stressful and time consuming to make sure I look presentable!
Time! With a family, someone always wants some of my time, I get up an hour early in the morning just to have some 'me' time.
My hair has become more dull looking with age.
Cancer.
I was diagnosed with colon cancer a year ago at age 50. Darn near lost every strand of hair due to chemo. It is starting to grow back, keeping it quite short until it fills out more. It is way different hair for me (thinner, dryer, curly and grayer) than over a year ago and I struggle with shampoo, conditioner, and gel choices due to that.
smithpatty at comcast dot net
Menopause really changed the texture of my hair.
My challenge is shine and bounce and pantene does and has helped with that in the past.
letessha@yahoo.com
I'm letting my hair get longer and longer, which I like, but it's getting harder to keep it in good condition...split end, etc.
After each of my three children were born I lost massive amounts of hair. I couldn't believe how much ended up in the drain after showering. It really scared me. My hair just hasn't been the same since my last one was born. It doesn't have the same volume it used to have and the ends are frequently frizzy-looking.

I color my hair because of the grey and I also permed it!! So I need to take great care of it!
I like Pantene products anyway but having two kids after the age of forty does a number on everything.
To be honest, my challenges were earlier in my life, when I tried to keep some curl in my stick-straight hair. Since I found an attractive cut that just lets me keep it straight, life has been much easier.

It seems my hair has gotten better as I get older. It's so much silkier than when I was younger!!
I have 5 kids and 4 of them being boys I never have anytime to do my hair they are always fighting ith each other so I have to hurry or someone will get hurt
What has Happened? Time!! Age has a way of dulling hair. So sad.
My parents are ill and need my help almost daily so everything else is on the back burner.
Ugh, getting older has made my hair impossible. It's thinning, greys are popping up, frizzy from May - Oct and dry. I could definitely use a Pantene hair makeover.
I am starting to get silvery white hairs and they are noticeable since they are very light. So coloring them dries my hair and I have frizzy hair anyway so I need to keep it in good condition.
honestly nothing, my hair can't be killed :0)
My hair is about as healthy now as it has ever been.

Having kids changed my hair--now its dryer than it was which is an improvement because it was oily before.
Moving to Colorado. The air is so dry.
My favorite of all time hairdresser moved away and finding one that does my hair half as well is my current challenge.
i work as a cook, so i have to put up my hair, so it breaks on the sides, and at the nape of the neck, also im getting up there in age so i have some grey!!
Loss of hormones has caused my hair to thin to where parts of my scalp are showing. I've been thinking of alternatives including trying Rogaine.

I have lost 100 lbs. in the last 8 months and I have noticed that my hair is dull and flat. I would really love to try this product and see if it helps.
Age - my hair is thinning, and it's harder to do anything with it.
The only thing that has changed is since I've become old, my hair has thinned a little. It still doesn't do what I want it to! Thank you!
Coloring my hair has made it dry and dull looking.
Stress and age a powerful combination for disaster. My hair keeps getting thinner and greyer.
I'm sprouting white hairs, which like to stand straight on end--they are quite a challenge to deal with! Thanks for the contest!
This sounds kinda stupid, but I used to workout and shower in the evenings and my hair could air dry through the night. Now, I've decided to work out and shower in the mornings and I don't want to go out with wet hair, but I'm also afraid that blow drying my hair everyday will damage it, so I've been trying out hair products that will protect my hair from heat damage. colorfulcarla@ gmail.com
The summer makes it very dry.
My age. The grayer my hair gets the coarser it gets. It's very frustrating!
Overwashing it because I swim - it dries it out and makes it look like straw!

As I get older my hair is getting coarser. I can color the gray, but my hair has lost alot of the softness and is not as flexible as it used to be. God's Blessings to all...
My hair has always been very thin. I can't even color my hair any more, it was starting to fall out. If this would help that would be great. Thanks.

My hair has gotten thinner.
I guess mainly what has changed is that my husband lost his job in November and I can't afford to get my hair cut as often as it needs or buy "nice" shampoo and conditioner.
My hair has always been fine, but like you I have seen my hair get thinner after having two children, change in hormones and age.
I too found that salon shampoos and conditioners don't make a difference. I do use a root booster to try to add a little umph to my top and I found that my hair also has a little more body when it is cut shorter. Longer hair tends to be too heavy and weighs it down and makes my hair look even thinner!
Letting my hair grow long has changed in my life that makes keeping my hair healthy and looking nice a challenge

My biggest hair challenge is work related. I have Very long, thick, frizzy naturally curly hair that is prone to breakage and split ends. Work requires me to wear it pulled up on my head. Can't touch my shoulders at all. Therefore, I have to live in ponytail and my hair has to live with the damage they cause!
Since having a baby, it's hard to find any time to take care of myself.
Caring for an elderly parent/switching rolls is more stressful than raising kids - in my opinion. I went grey quickly, gained weight and loose more sleep worrying than I have ever done with the kids - I am going to attempt to have my hair dyed for the first time, next week as it may help me internally and provide a smiling day!
I have a baby, so it's always hard to find time for myself. I rarely get a haircut, and I don't have much time to take care of my hair.

I travel all the time for work now, so it is difficult to carry full sized good hair products everywhere I go. I end up relying on hotel products and they are not as good. :(
Thank you! :)

I have 3 kids and that is pretty much my challenge. My kids make it impossible for me to have the free time to worry about my hair. Pony tails and buns are my everyday wear.

Being a stay at home mom has made my hair pretty low on the list of priorities. I am pretty much a ponytail girl these days.
getting married & trying not to turn into a frumpy stay at home mom has got me focused on my hair =)

Oh, gosh, where do I begin? Growing family, increased workload, eating more fast food than I used to, not having enough time for a leave-in conditioner, age-related thinning hair. There's more, but I'm depressing myself :(
Stress. We have had a lot of things happen lately and stress is affecting just about every aspect of my life.
My biggest hair challenge seems to be just finding time to fix it the way I want.
Moving to the blazing hot and humid lowcountry has made my hair a daily challenge.
I'm losing my hair so I need to take care of what's left.
Having young kids means less time for me in the mornings- very little time for styling. I've been caught in a cycle of letting my hair grown long so that I can just pull it back in a ponytail; then I get exasperated and cut it short but get frustrated with the frizz. Ugh!

well having kids is alot of my challenge, but i learned when they was young that if i cut my hair short and keep it simple, it was easier for me to keep it looking good. thanks
As I am aging, my hair is thinning. I'm trying a little different hair style to see what is best for this stage of my life.
I moved to an area with very hard, mineralized water. My hair is heavy and turning red.

As I get older my hair becomes coarser and harder to manage.
