Talking with Capital Letters...

What I learned this week is brought to you by JoLynn at Musings of a Housewife.

1. Preschoolers should talk with Capital letters. Otherwise your conversation will go a little like this

Hailey "I played with Clay today"
Mom "Oh, was he a nice boy?"
Hailey "no, I played with claaaaaaaaay"
Mom "oh, I see but you know some boys do have the name Clay"

2. Wikki Stix were meant to be small imaginative toys for boys and girls to play with and throw away and though it was probably a brilliant money maker for the makers these 3ft long ones are a total joke, they tangle, they don't fit back in the bucket and they can quickly become weapons of mass destruction even in the hands of my precious daughters...

so while we LOVE Wikki Stix we will stick to the small imaginative play version from now on!

3. CNN loves to use the word Alleged - these were the top three headlines when I woke up Friday morning

Alleged Fort Hood shooter is paralyzed, lawyer says

Obama: Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, alleged 9/11 leader, to face justice

Jaycee Dugard's alleged kidnapper apologizes

4. Lauren has finished Hairy Potter book 4 and is moving on to book 5 - I love watching her enjoy this series so much!

5. Thanksgiving preperations begin this week - checking the pantry, shopping, getting the house ready...oh me oh my...where does the time go?

OH, you're ahead of me with the Thanksgiving preparations! We have a restaurant that gives out wikkisticks. Such a weird toy - we always wonder how someone came up with that idea, and how they managed to make a killing off of it!! :)

Oh yes - we have weapons of mass destruction in our house too! Even a slice of cheese can turn deadly when wielded by a toddler! ;)

You find the most interesting toys. I've never heard of wikki stix. My kids are still talking about those chirping eggs from easter. My son is on the last HP book. Hopefully we'll find something else for him to read - I like the Percy Jackson Olympians series.
