Gardening for Dummies

April 16th 2009 I put out a cry for advice.  We had failed year after year to have a successful garden (and it really wasn't our fault) You can read about it HERE

I decided about 3 weeks to take the plunge, to make the garden grow...

So I gave Hailey a shovel and put her to work

Then I started churning the soil a big - and the next day I woke up to this:

Despite the obvious garden hindrance we were already seeing... (look close)

Gramps came over and churned the soil real good
Grams added a butterfly to brighten the place up a bit

Hailey spent some time breaking up the leftover chunks  (to her it was a giant sandbox)

and now we are ready to plant...as soon as the weather permits of course!

yay! Looks great! What are you going to grow this year? I can't believe there was a bunny in there! I love that Hailey is playing in the dirt but w/ gloves and sitting on a stone. When we worked on ours it looked like I bathed my son in dirt :-P well and myself as well since it was flying EVERYWHERE while he was sitting in the middle of the garden under a pile of dirt!

Good Luck! I haven't wanted to start a garden for years but I just want it to start itself somehow. Love your little helper :)

Good luck, I do not have a green thumb, and it's such a shame because both of my parents were awesome gardeners..........the gene skipped me.........ugh.

We've planted our seeds in little greenhouses in our dining room...now Daddy needs to build the planting boxes! Our little "sprouts" are almost ready to transfer!

Rabbits are the cutest until they get in your garden.
Happy Gardening - this is the first year we do not have one. : (

Should you really plant this early? I mean, you probably have another snowstorm coming before summer, right? Just kidding!

I can not garden. You will impress me!
